Mindfulness approaches

Practical, evidence-based mindfulness for real life

Mindfulness can be a powerful tool for self-awareness, emotional balance, and resilience — but how it’s delivered matters. I offer flexible, trauma-sensitive mindfulness programmes. These courses are tailored to specific environments. They range from schools and social care to the workplace and private practice.

I have over 15 years of experience in mental health, group facilitation, and education. I deliver mindfulness in ways that are practical. They are also inclusive and responsive to each audience.

🧠 1. Mindfulness in Mental Health and Therapy

As a Human Givens Therapist, I integrate mindfulness where appropriate to help clients:

  • Develop awareness of unhelpful thought loops
  • Improve emotional regulation and sleep
  • Create space between impulse and action
  • Anchor themselves in the present moment

I use body-based mindfulness, breath awareness, and metaphor to support grounding, emotional safety, and nervous system regulation.

Typical clients include:
✔ People facing anxiety, burnout, or overwhelm
✔ Adults with busy minds or poor sleep
✔ Individuals adjusting to health changes or caring roles

🏫 2. Mindfulness in Schools

I am trained to deliver the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MISP) curriculum to both students and school staff.

  • Paws b – Primary-aged pupils
  • .b – Secondary students
  • .b Foundations – School staff

These courses help improve focus, self-awareness, and emotional literacy. I also offer INSET sessions, assemblies, and wellbeing weeks.

Benefits for schools include:
✔ Calmer classrooms
✔ Better pupil engagement
✔ Improved staff wellbeing

🧍‍♀️ 3. Mindfulness in Social Care

I understand the demands of frontline work. In social care, mindfulness isn’t about sitting still — it’s about staying present and resourced under pressure.

I offer short, focused sessions that help practitioners:

  • Pause and reset
  • Recognise early signs of emotional fatigue
  • Build sustainable self-care habits
  • Prevent burnout and compassion fatigue

Suitable for:
✔ Adult social care teams
✔ Carers and support workers
✔ Service users with complex needs

💼 4. Mindfulness at Work

Mindfulness at work is more than a trend — it’s a protective factor against burnout, presenteeism, and stress-related absence.

I deliver engaging, accessible workplace sessions that focus on:

  • Awareness in action (not just on the cushion)
  • Brief resets for busy workdays
  • Mindful communication and boundary-setting
  • Resilience tools for emotionally demanding roles

Available formats:
✔ One-off wellbeing talks
✔ 4–6 week courses
✔ Lunchtime or after-work sessions
✔ Customised themes (e.g. sleep, pressure, presence)

👨‍👩‍👧 5. Mindfulness for Parents and Families

I run a Mindful Parenting programme and offer tailored sessions for parents navigating:

  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Parenting stress
  • Health changes or trauma
  • Supporting neurodiverse children

These sessions blend mindfulness with compassionate presence, helping parents build connection and calm in the home.
